What does "Manner of performance" mean?
It means the little details that turn a sequence of correct notes into a convincing performance.
Where appropriate, the transcription indicates techniques such as bends, slides, vibrato, hammer-ons, pull-offs and other articulations and performance details.
Think of it as having extra instructions from the transcriber sitting alongside the music, helping you get closer to the feel and character of the original recording.
Do I need to be able to read music?
No. The tablature shows you which string and fret to play, so you don’t need to be an experienced music reader to use a Tabman transcription.
If you do read conventional notation, you have the additional advantage of being able to follow the musical stave as well.
Are Tabman tabs suitable for beginners?
